We are proud to have welcomed students from over 122 countries last year – supporting students to achieve their goals: whether that be to strengthen their language confidence, gain a place at a reputable university, or improve their international career prospects.
We have year-round adult centres for students aged 16 and over in Cambridge and Central London and a year-round young learner centre in St Albans. With Summer being the most popular time for young learners, we also open three additional centres in the UK’s most reputable boarding schools in Wellington, Bloxham and Cambridge.

Bell is proud to be considered one of the UK’s top English language schools for young learners. We offer a project-based learning approach to inspire students to achieve their potential and combine this with an opportunity to pursue their other interests, like art and design, sports, or performing arts.
We also understand that every student is a unique individual to us: it is one of the core principles of the Bell Way We can help you find the perfect course for your unique young learner from our wide portfolio of programmes:
- Junior Explorer (7-10 years)
- Explorer programme (11-17 years)
- Intensive Academic English (12-17 years)
- Young Business Leaders (14-17 years)
- Young Cambridge Scholars (14-17 years)

Customise your experience with a combination of modules to ensure you achieve your personal learning goals: whether that be to improve your English level or achieve an internationally-recognised English language qualification. We place a lot of value in students having the opportunity to practise their skills outside of the classroom, so all our activities, local excursions and study tours are included in the course price.
Students will also have the opportunity to meet and work with people from a wide mix of nationalities to create a truly multicultural learning experience.
Our adult courses include:
- Effective English
- IELTS exam preparation
- Cambridge Exam preparation
- Plus: skills workshops, business skills, 1:1 tuition

Our university pathway teachers are highly experienced and hold top qualifications in the subjects they teach, so you will have the best opportunity at gaining the critical knowledge and skills you need to secure a place at university and succeed in your chosen careers.
With all our residences within walking distance to the school, you will benefit from a full on-campus experience – giving you an insight into life at university.
On successful completion of a Bell University Foundation Programme, we guarantee you will be offered a place on an undergraduate degree at a UK university. Choose the subject pathways that suits you:
- Business Foundation
- Science & Engineering Foundation
- Humanities Foundation
- Law Foundation

Educational travel tours combine group tourism with learning. Students visit and experience places they have only been exposed to in a classroom environment.
These travels enhance their understanding of people, places and customs in a way that textbooks, the Internet or even augmented reality (AR) simply can not convey. Educational tours also give students opportunities to sharpen their English skills by conversing with native speakers.

Safe, supportive and caring team
If you are sending your child to study, they will be cared for by our support teams, including dedicated houseparents, teachers and activity leaders, on site 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Inclusive approach
We will always endeavour to accommodate students with additional learning needs. Bell St Albans (for young learners) and Bell Cambridge can also accommodate students with physical disabilities or mobility issues.
Inspections and accreditation
We are regularly inspected by industry regulators who assess our learning and welfare provision. In 2018, we were awarded 14 points of excellence by the British Council and rated ‘excellent’ in our ISI report.
